Sam gets a car and drives to the Royal Lancaster where Reid is waiting. They talk about Helen's affair. He asks if she is in too deep to get out of the affair. She says that Helen has been giving away government secrets for ten years. She expresses concern about what Wallace will do if he finds out about Helen's affair. She asks Sam to find out if Helen is a target and, if so, eliminate the threat. He asks if he wants her to hunt the assassin. Reed says he owes Helen a debt. He asks why she got involved with Jason. Helen is also watching the news reports about the connection between Jason, Philip and Maggie's murders. Wallace tells her that the Chinese have not accepted the coroner's report and that she should have a debriefing with the Prime Minister. She asks him if he knows Jason. He says no. At the Royal Lancaster, Sam is approached by Daniel while having a drink. Sam invites him to his room, but only if he takes off his party hat.

Helen opens a bracelet, a gift from Jason, but finds nothing hidden in the box. She then visits Jason's apartment. His landlord, Beth, tells her that the police have already recovered some of his belongings. She accompanies Helen to his apartment. Helen discovers Jason's phone, containing his last voicemail before he was killed. She reminisces about their time together. She is shown cutting out the SIM card. She inhales from his e-cigarette pen. The police arrive. Helen texts Reid saying "I've compromised you". While Sam and Daniel are having sex at the Royal Lancaster, Sam's phone rings. Sam leaves Daniel and answers it. Reid calls on his mobile.

Williams and Kent identify themselves as police officers. Beth says the police were there earlier, but Jason's girlfriend is upstairs. Helen hides behind a wall when she is contacted by Jacqueline. She orders her to return to bed, promising to do so shortly. Williams and Kent approach, armed. Helen stabs Kent in the leg. Williams fires several shots at them. Helen grabs a gun. A fight breaks out. Sam appears and shoots Kent dead. Williams escapes. Helen is shocked to see herself covered in blood. He goes to his car. After he gets a box hidden in what looks like a ventilation slot behind the frame, she gets in the car with him. He tells her he came because Reed warned him she was in trouble.
